The following questions consist of two statements – Assertion (A) and Reason (R). Answer these questions by selecting the appropriate option given below:
(a) If both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion.
(b) If both Assertion and Reason are correct, but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.
(c) If Assertion is correct but Reason is incorrect.
(d) If Assertion is incorrect but Reason is correct

Assertion: While dissolving an acid or base in water, the acids must always be added slowly to water with constant stirring.
Reason: Dissolving an acid on a base in water is a highly exothermic reaction

(a) If both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion.


Assertion: Phenolphthalein gives pink color in the basic solution.
Reason: Phenolphthalein is a natural indicator.
